Hazards

Each of the pathways has its own benefits each has its own problems.  We prefer some pathways because of our strengths and because of our weaknesses.

A lot of our preference comes down to personality but following Jesus more closely requires balance: singing as well as reading; doing as well as praying.

We also find some pathways easier for us because of our circumstances.  Parents who have enjoyed throwing themselves into celebration and action, hit a wall when they find that they have small children to look after.  Students who have had plenty of time for contemplation and quietness don't find it so easy when they are holding down a responsible job.  

Undergirding the idea of pathways is knowing that God is always present, whether we feel it or not.  Thats why we seek to practise his presence in all areas.
